Behind the Veil

The philosophy, boundaries, and person behind Bones and Belladonna.

Dark romance, romantasy, and gothic fiction demand more than creativity. They demand consistency

Why Bones & Belladonna Was Created

Bones and Belladonna didn’t begin as a business plan, it began with books.

It started with a Bookstagram account and a deep love for stories: dark romances that ache, gothic worlds heavy with atmosphere, romantasy realms that blur devotion and danger. For characters who ruin each other beautifully. For pages that leave bruises. For worlds I’ve never lived in and people I’ve never met, yet somehow felt alongside.

Through those stories came community, authors, readers, and like minded creatives who care deeply about the work they put into the world.

Over time, one thing became impossible to ignore: many of those authors were exhausted.

After five years working in social media marketing, I watched talented writers, especially in dark romance, romantasy, paranormal and gothic fiction, carry the full weight of creation and promotion. Writing the book. Marketing the book. Managing readers. Showing up everywhere, all the time.

Bones and Belladonna was created to stand behind the scenes as an author’s hype team, handling the marketing, coordination, and moving parts that exist between writing the book and placing it into the right readers’ hands.

So authors can return to the part that matters most: creating stories that haunt, heal, and linger long after the final page.

The Hand Behind the Candlelight

I’m Nicky, the strategist and personal assistant behind Bones and Belladonna.

I work alongside indie authors who write emotionally intense, genre driven fiction, supporting the operational side of their careers so they can remain grounded in the work that matters most. The unseen work, planning, coordination, reader facing logistics, is where creative energy often quietly disappears. That’s where I step in.

I understand the weight that comes with releases, the trust readers place in an author, and the slow damage burnout causes when it’s ignored for too long.

My role isn’t to shape your stories or soften their edges, it’s to protect the space in which they’re written.

Why This Works

I come from both sides of the work, as a reader deeply immersed in dark romance, romantasy, and gothic fiction, and as a professional with years of experience in social media marketing. That combination allows me to support authors with intention, genre awareness, and respect for the stories they’re telling.

I don’t just understand the logistics. I understand the worlds you’re building, and the readers waiting for them.

Ready to Step Closer

If something here resonates, if you’re tired of carrying the weight alone, or you already know you need support, reaching out is welcome.

Not every author is ready for the same level of help, and not every question fits neatly into an assessment. Sometimes clarity comes from a conversation.

Whether you’re unsure which path fits, want to ask a few questions, or feel ready to move forward intentionally, this is where you can raise your hand.

Support begins with alignment.
